About CrossCert
Founded in March 1999 by Dr. Richard Shinn, CrossCert Inc. emerged as South Korea’s pioneering Certification Authority, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s digital security landscape. From September 1, 1999, until 2010, CrossCert operated as a premiere affiliate partner of Verisign, a global leader in domain name registry services and internet security.
In its inaugural year, CrossCert attracted an investment of US$20M from SoftBank and Verisign. This early success paved the way for its public offering on the KOSDAQ in 2010.
In pursuit of expanding its cybersecurity influence globally, Dr. Shinn established Cosmotown Inc. in Palo Alto, California, in February 2012. As a global Domain Name Registrar, Cosmotown further extended the company’s reach into the international arena.
Building on this momentum, Cosmotown Inc. established a global certification authority arm in Geneva, Switzerland in June 2023, TuringSign Global. Aiming to offer comprehensive SSL certificate services worldwide, TuringSign is gearing up for its beta launch in June 2024.
